Bokrijk

Bokrijk combines an open-air museum with reconstructed rural buildings, an arboretum and ponds. You can spend the day exploring architecture and crafts, or make a shorter visit to cycle through the surrounding landscape and across the water.

The place

What makes it special

  • The museum presents buildings and objects linked to ways of living and working in Flanders from the late Middle Ages to the early twentieth century.
  • A roughly 200-metre platform crosses a pond at cycling junction 91.
  • The arboretum and paths beside the ponds offer an alternative to exploring the museum.
